Grammar Giggles - Firffighters
Thanks to my friend Caryn in California. I've looked at this several times to make sure it wasn't just that the bottom of the "e" rubbed off, but it looks to me like it is intentionally a "f." I'm thinking that California saved a ton of money by leaving the bottom line off.

FirF! I think it really is part of the letter rubbed off. If you look at the other letters on the panel, some of those are missing or partially missing, too. Funny, though! Yeah, California may just have tried to save a little budget by editing some of the letters to save on ink or paint or whatever they use. ;)
